Kim's Bio

Distinguish a good investment

In case you would like to know something about me…

I am the Founder and President of Snider Advisors, a SEC Registered Investment Advisor. My firm manages approximately $90 million directly for clients, using the Snider Investment Method®, and advises on an additional $320+ million managed by our extended family of Snider Investment Method Workshop alumni. My focus as a financial success coach is not in managing your money for you, but teaching you -- and holding you accountable for -- the skills needed to manage risk, accumulate savings, and achieve your goals with confidence.

The primary, but not the only, tool I use to help my clients achieve financial success is the Snider Investment Method. I developed the Snider Investment Method for my own use beginning in 1997. I have been teaching it to others since 1999.

We must be doing something right. We were honored as one of the fastest-growing, privately held companies in the Dallas/Fort Worth area in 2006 by the Caruth Institute for Entrepreneurship at SMU's Cox School of Business. In 2008, we were named to the Inc 5000 list of fastest-growing, privately held companies in America. We were ranked 34th among businesses in Dallas - Fort Worth and 45th among financial services firms.

When I am not busy building and running Snider Advisors, I moonlight as an author, speaker and host of Financial Success Coaching with Kim Snider, Saturdays at noon, on KRLD NewsRadio 1080, a CBS affiliate in Dallas - Fort Worth.

My blog, Kimmunications, is a repository for whatever happens to hit the front of my brain or pique my ire on a given day. If you want to know what I think or know about an issue, it is a pretty good bet I have written about it and you can find it on my blog.

Speaking of writing, my first book, How to Be the Family CFO: Four Simple Steps to Put Your Financial House in Order (Greenleaf), hit bookstores October 1, 2008. Hooray! Please rush out and buy a copy. Not for me, mind you. It's my dogs. They demand an endless supply of Meaty Bones. The good news is, after reading it, you'll be able to afford more Meaty Bones, too.

At least a few people, besides my Mom, think I know a little something about the topics of personal finance and investing. I have been featured in the PBS Special, Finding the Rich Woman in You, with Kim Kiyosaki, which is currently running in over 40 markets, as well as a local Emmy nominated series featuring me, Robert Kiyosaki and Suze Orman titled, Pay It Off.

I have been quoted on various subjects related to personal finance and investing in over 80 daily newspapers, including the Los Angeles Times, Miami Herald, Boston Globe, Dallas Morning News and the Houston Chronicle. I have been interviewed for more radio shows than I can count and I am widely quoted on the web in such places as SmartMoney.com, The Motley Fool, Conde Nast Portfolio, CNBC.com and TheStreet.com. I am still waiting for Oprah to call.

My life prior to Snider Advisors was pretty diverse. I worked in senior management and senior executive capacities within the hospitality, computer and telecommunications industries. I also made my living as an options trader and my great passion in life is playing polo.

Of course, we can't forget the mandatory education and professional affiliation section. Let's see … I hold a Series 65 license from FINRA for Registered Investment Advisor Representatives. I am a member of the National Speaker's Association and chair its Investment Committee. And, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Go Buffs!

I live in Flower Mound, Texas with my husband Jim, and our two German Shepherds, Lexi and Dritte.

That's my story and I'm sticking to it. If you want the more colorful version, see Kim's Story.
