Several of our clients have recently contacted us to mention that they have received notifications regarding a settlement that has been reached regarding Force Protection (FRPT). To be eligible for this settlement, you will need to have held the FRPT position at any point between November 6, 2011 and December 19, 2011.
If you are contacted in regards to this settlement, and if you held the FRPT position during this period, you are eligible to claim your share of the settlement funds. The settlement will be for 11 cents per share for every share of FRPT that you owned during that time period.
You may check to see if you are eligible for this settlement by using the activity page on your optionsXpress account or TradeKing account (the one used will depend on whichever broker you were using during the time period in question). Perform a search for the dates listed, and locate any entries during that time period for FRPT/Force Protection.

One final note: there will be a process that will have to be undertaken in order to claim any settlement funds. Given the relatively low amount of money many of our clients stand to receive (even if they do in fact qualify for the settlement at all), it may not be worth the effort to complete the process. We will leave it up to you to determine if you wish to complete the procedure; we would only like to request that you consider the requirements necessary in full before committing yourself.
